Music on La Veranda

The Cucina Rustica restaurant in Blue Ridge, Georgia is hosting Music on La Veranda, an afternoon of music, food, and cocktails to benefit Open Arms of Blue Ridge on April 28, 2012 from 1 PM to 4 PM. This intimate outdoor venue is the perfect place for music and fellowship. Come listen to the Rhythm Jaxx Band from Tennessee as you sample some delicious Italian food and great wine from Cucina Rustica.

Tickets are $20 per person for covered seating and $10 per person if you bring your own chair. Tickets are still available but space is limited so get your tickets soon! All proceeds will go to Open Arms of Blue Ridge, a non profit organization that helps abused and neglected children.

2012 Relay for Life in Blue Ridge

Join in the 2012 Relay for Life at the Blue Ridge City Park in downtown Blue Ridge, Georgia on April 27 – 28, 2012. This fundraising event is both enjoyable and inspiring as you Relay for Life. There will be carnival games, food and entertainment, along with the Luminaria Ceremony and the Survivor Walk. There’s still time to sign up your relay team.

5th Annual Taste of Blue Ridge

DogThe 5th annual Taste of Blue Ridge is happening on April 21,  2012 from 5 PM to 8 PM at Hi Country Events in Blue Ridge, Georgia. This annual event, sponsored by the Humane Society of Blue Ridge, is an evening of dining and dancing with over 30 restaurants represented, beer and wine vendors, live entertainment and silent and live auctions. Enjoy lots of great food, dance the night away and know that it is all going to help the Humane Society of Blue Ridge.

15th Annual Blue Ridge Mtn. Adventure Race

Adventure RaceJoin in the adventure of the 15th annual Blue Ridge Mountain Adventure Race in Blue Ridge, Georgia on April 14, 2012. There will be 2 different adventure races to choose from. The traditional race, the Elite Race, is a 6 to 10 hour race and the new race, the Sport Race, is a shorter 4 to 6 hour course. Both races challenge teams of 2 or 3 members (plus an additional support member) in running, paddling, mountain biking, and navigating through the beautiful North Georgia mountains. Trophies will be awarded.

The races finish at the downtown Blue Ridge City Park in front of the Art Center. Plan to enjoy the after race party/meal for the teams at the park. You can purchase extra tickets for the party when you register for the race.

2012 Easter Egg Hunt

Happy EasterBring the children out to St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Blue Ridge, Georgia on April 7, 2012 for the 16th annual Easter Egg Hunt beginning at 1 PM. The hunt will include more than 1,000 real eggs and 1,000 plastic eggs filled with fun little goodies hidden all around the church grounds. Sylvia

The next play coming to the Blue Ridge Community Theater in Blue Ridge, Georgia is “Sylvia”. It is about a couple who move to Manhattan after raising their children in the suburbs. The man, Greg, brings home a dog who found him in the park and the only thing he knows about the dog is her nametag says her name is Sylvia. This is a funny, heartwarming tale about the man’s love of his dog told from the dog’s perspective.

The show’s run is from April 5 through April 22, 2012. Showtimes are 7:30 PM on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays and 2 PM matinees on Sundays. Tickets are $18 for adults, $16.20 for seniors 65+, $9 for students college age and younger, and $14.40 for groups of 10 or more. There are also options for Season tickets and Flex passes.
