Jack Williams in Concert

Jack Williams will be performing a concert as part of the Live Music is Better concert series at the Blue Ridge Community Theater in Blue Ridge, Georgia on November 16, 2012. Jack’s career as a singer/songwriter has spanned 54 years and his performing folk, jazz, rock, R&B, classical, and pop music of the 30s, 40s, 50s has shaped him into the dynamic folk performer he is today. He is known as a unique guitarist whose southern roots and storytelling ability creates vivid songs that are illustrated with his guitar.

Fall Arts in the Park

Fall is a beautiful time of year in the North Georgia mountains. With the crisp, cool air and the leaves changing, you can really enjoy a weekend of fine arts, good food, and more at the Fall Arts in the Park in the Downtown Blue Ridge City Park in Blue Ridge, Georgia on October 13 – 14, 2012. Over 100 artists from around the nation will be there displaying their arts and crafts. You won’t want to miss the Photography exhibit on display at the Art Center Gallery.

Blue Ridge Mountain Marching Festival

If you enjoy watching marching bands, you are in for a treat if you come to the Blue Ridge Mountain Marching Festival in Blue Ridge, Georgia on October 13, 2012. Bands from 22 different high schools will be participating with bands ranging from 43 to 151 members. The festival will take place at the Fannin County High School with the first performance at 1 PM. Bands will be marching throughout the day ending at 9:30 PM.

Blue Ridge Blues and BBQ

Come on out to the downtown Blue Ridge City Park in Blue Ridge, Georgia on September 22, 2012 from 12 Noon to 9 PM to enjoy some blues music and some tasty barbecue! Some really outstanding blues bands will be featured at this year’s festival: EG Kight who just returned from a World Tour with BB King, Roger “Hurricane” Wilson, Rollin’ Bones, Frankie’s Blues Mission, and Revenge. Celebrity emcees, Jack Morton and Wanda Rowland, will keep the vibe going and award winning photographer Chris Hefferen from Foundry Digital records will be documenting the event for DVDs. Make sure you come hungry so you can enjoy some of the delicious barbecue that will be available from local food vendors.

Admission is $5 per person. A portion of the proceeds will go to benefit the Humane Society of Blue Ridge. This event is being brought to you by the Blue Ridge Lodging Association in cooperation with the Fannin County Chamber of Commerce and the City of Blue Ridge. Get a preview on Friday night, September 21 with the downtown Blue Ridge Blues Crawl. Blues bands will be playing at the Blue Orleans Bistro, Blue Ridge Brewery, Christy Lee’s Courtyard Grille, The Vine Wine Bar & Bistro, and The Whistle Stop Grill. Have some great food and listen to some great music and get your weekend started off right.

Vincent

The next play showing at the Blue Ridge Community Theater in Blue Ridge, Georgia is “Vincent”, a story about Vincent Van Gogh and his brother who die within 6 months of each other. Vincent’s life is told through a series of soul revealing letters he wrote to his brother.

Performances will be held September 20 – October 7, 2012. Showtimes are 7:30 PM on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays with  Sunday matinees at 2 PM. Special performances will be held at the Tater Patch Playhouse in Jasper, Georgia on September 14 – 16, 2012. For more information, call 706-632-9223.

Kiwanis Fair of Blue Ridge

It’s time once again for the Kiwanis Fair of Blue Ridge in Blue Ridge, Georgia. Come on out and have some fun. The fair will be in town from September 18 through 22, 2012. There will be lots of rides, games, food, and local entertainers will be performing every day.

2012 Labor Day BBQ

Come one, come all to the Labor Day BBQ in the downtown Blue Ridge City Park in Blue Ridge, Georgia on September 3, 2012 from 11:30 AM to 6 PM. There will be family style entertainment with Old Time, Bluegrass, and Gospel music and lots of tasty barbecue with all the fixins’. It’s going to take place rain or shine so make your plans to come out.
