Christmas at Blue Ridge Mountain Arts

Stained Glass Mary and JesusChristmas is a busy time at the Blue Ridge Mountain Arts Association. There will be many events taking place at The Art Center for the holidays starting with the 2010 Holiday Show and Sale which opens with a reception on Saturday evening, November 20, 2010. There will be food, fun, entertainment and wonderful artistic creations for sale by over 500 regional artists. You are sure to find something for everyone on your Christmas list as there will be offerings of pottery, woodworks, sculptures, folk art, jewelry, blown and stained glass, paintings, and so much more! The sale will continue through December 22, 2010. All purchases help The Art Center keep their programs going and their artists creating.

The holiday celebrations keep going with the Festival of Trees, going on November 22, 2010 through November 27, 2010. The Festival of Trees is a wonderful exhibit of Christmas trees decorated by local businesses and organizations. There will be a reception and silent auction on November 26, 2010 at 6 PM and all proceeds go to benefit the Craddock Center.

Christmas at The Art Center is an open house being hosted by The Art Center on December 11, 2010 from 10 AM to 6 PM. Come share some warm drinks, fresh baked goods, and fellowship with friends old and new as you enjoy the beauty of the season at The Art Center. A large Christmas tree will be displayed in the Richard Low Evans Courtroom Gallery and everyone is encouraged to bring a wrapped gift for a child in need in the community. The gifts should be artistic in nature to help spark creativity in the child it will be given to (no oil based products please). Please tag your gift for the age it is appropriate for. Even if you can’t make it to the open house, you can still help bring a smile to the face of a child by bringing a gift to put under the tree at The Art Center any time after November 20, 2010.
