- February 23, 2011
The Sunny D Children’s Theater presents Still Life with Iris on March 18 – 20 and 25 – 27, 2011 at the Blue Ridge Community Theater in Blue Ridge, Georgia.
This award winning play was written by Steven Dietz and is an imaginative adventure that focuses on a little girl’s search for home. Iris lives with her mother in a magical place called Nocturno where memories are stored in “past coats” instead of people’s minds. The rulers of Nocturno want their lives to have the best of everything and decide they want Iris as part of that ideal. To make Iris’ separation from her family easier, they have taken her “past coat” leaving her with only a button from it. Using this button as a clue, Iris sets out on a journey and with the help of friends she meets along the way, she frees herself from these people.
