You won’t want to miss Blue Ridge Community Theater’s version of “It’s a Wonderful Life” on stage November 25 through December 18, 2011 in Blue Ridge, Georgia. This Christmas classic is a heartwarming story of George Bailey, a man who dreams of traveling the world. His dreams are never realized as there is always someone or something he has to take care of. Events happen which leave George very frustrated, leading him to attempt suicide. An angel steps in to show George what life would be like without him in it.
Showtimes are 7:30 PM to 9:30 PM starting on Friday, November 25, 2011 and running Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays through December 18, 2011. Grace and Glorie

The next production at the Blue Ridge Community Theater in Blue Ridge, Georgia is “Grace and Glorie”. It will run October 6 through 16, 2011.
This is an interesting story about the differences and similarities of two women. Grace is a nice, simple living person who volunteers for Hospice, helping comfort people at the end of their days. Glorie is a high society type who is Grace’s next assignment. The contrast between the two make this a touching and funny play.
Showtimes are 7:30 PM to 9:30 PM on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, 2 PM matinee on Sundays.

Postmortem

The Blue Ridge Community Theater in Blue Ridge, Georgia is putting on the play, “Postmortem” by Ken Ludwig running Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays through October 2, 2011. This show is a thriller set in a pseudo-medieval castle overlooking the Connecticut River. It involves murder, intrigue and humor as an avid Sherlock Holmes actor invites guests for a seance and proceeds to solve a case through his alter ego, Sherlock Holmes. Due to the adult subject matter, this production is rated R.

Tribute to Elvis Presley

The Blue Ridge Community Theater in Blue Ridge, Georgia is hosting a Tribute to Elvis Presley on August 13, 2011. “McElvis” will entertain you performing songs from throughout The King of Rock and Roll’s music career. The doors open at 6:30 PM and the show starts promptly at 7:30 PM. There will be an after party with details being announced during the show.
Adult beverages and concessions will be available throughout the evening as well as merchandise including hats, t shirts and more.

Dixie Swim Club

The next play coming up in the 2011 season at the Blue Ridge Community Theater in Blue Ridge, Georgia is the Dixie Swim Club. This show will be performed on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from May 6, 2011 to May 29, 2011.
The story takes you on a 33 year journey through the lives of 5 southern women who met as teenagers as part of a swim team. Every year they leave their families at home and get together at the beach to reconnect with each other. You will share in the joys and happiness as well as the hurts and heartaches as you follow along through the lives of the characters.

Still Life with Iris

The Sunny D Children’s Theater presents Still Life with Iris on March 18 – 20 and 25 – 27, 2011 at the Blue Ridge Community Theater in Blue Ridge, Georgia.
This award winning play was written by Steven Dietz and is an imaginative adventure that focuses on a little girl’s search for home. Iris lives with her mother in a magical place called Nocturno where memories are stored in “past coats” instead of people’s minds. The rulers of Nocturno want their lives to have the best of everything and decide they want Iris as part of that ideal. To make Iris’ separation from her family easier, they have taken her “past coat” leaving her with only a button from it. Using this button as a clue, Iris sets out on a journey and with the help of friends she meets along the way, she frees herself from these people.

Caught in the Net

Caught in the Net is the newest play in production at the Blue Ridge Community Theater. This play will be shown Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, February 11 through March 6, 2011.
Caught in the Net is a follow up to Ray Cooney’s smash hit Run for your Wife. Even if you haven’t seen Run for your Wife, you will be able to follow what is happening in this latest production. Two high schoolers meet on the internet and realize they want more than the online flirtations and intend to meet. What they don’t realize is their father has been maintaining two families in two different towns and he is one and the same person. This show is rated PG-13 for language and mature subject matter.
