Horesback Riding in the Blue Ridge Mountains
- October 29, 2011
We are often asked “what should we do when we visit Blue Ridge”? There are so many things to do but the one experience that we think so many people would enjoy and that can bring some lasting memories is horseback riding in the Blue Ridge Mountains. This is often overlooked or in some cases avoided because of a lack of experience around horses. There are a number of trail rides available in North Georgia and most have guides and horse handlers that will make the experience enjoyable for everyone, beginners included.
If you are seeking trail rides with beautiful horses and experienced guides then there are a few choices but one really stands out. With mountain views and trails through the forest as well as some areas that overlook Lake Nottley we think you will enjoy A Step Above Stables. This adventure ride is sometimes overlooked because the address is Blairsville GA. The fact is, it is easier and faster to get to A Step Above Stables than some of the trail rides that list a Blue Ridge address. Their walking horses are gentle and their guides are experienced so you can choose just the right pace for your comfort.
If you are interested in horseback riding in Blue Ridge then A Step Above offers 1, 1.5, and 2 hour guided rides and you can arrange for the rides to be your own group rather than sharing the adventure with strangers. If you are planning a trip to Blue Ridge then horseback riding should be at the top of your list and the adventure starts here:

The next production at the Blue Ridge Community Theater in Blue Ridge, Georgia is “Grace and Glorie”. It will run October 6 through 16, 2011.
This is an interesting story about the differences and similarities of two women. Grace is a nice, simple living person who volunteers for Hospice, helping comfort people at the end of their days. Glorie is a high society type who is Grace’s next assignment. The contrast between the two make this a touching and funny play.
