Learn how to get back to basics with “Back to Basics – A Sustainable Family Lifestyle Expo” at the Cohutta Country Store in Blue Ridge, Georgia on May 21, 2011 from 10 AM to 6 PM. You can learn all about growing mushrooms, grapes, heirlooms from heirloom seeds, caring for fruit trees, organic gardening, farm animals, solar options and much more. Each class is $5. Under 16 is free.  All ages are welcome.

10:00am – 3:30 pm Building with Cobb with Rebecca Nantz

11:30am Growing Mushrooms
11:30am Growing Grapes/Making Wine
1:00pm  Growing with Heirloom Seeds with Author Lynn Coulter;
1:00pm  Care of Llama with Dr Karen Oretley and Care of Alpaca with Alpaca Tierra Farm
2:00pm  Basic Care of Farm Animals with Dr. Mike Zager
2:00pm  Advantages of Organic Gardening*
4:00pm  Bee Basics* – 2 Forums.
              1) A more basic class will be offered at the Cohutta Feed Store
              2) Inside look at an active bee farm (reserve in advance)             Â
4:00pm  Identification and uses of common wild plants
5:00pm  Solar Options
5:00pm  Backyard Aquaculture and Aquaponics
6:00pm  Sprouting Seeds for Feed
