34th Annual Arts in the Park Festival

artist paletteVisit the Blue Ridge City Park in Historic Downtown Blue Ridge across from the depot on Sunday, May 30th from 10AM to 5PM for the 34th Annual Arts in the Park Festival. There will be more than 150 booths displaying magnificent arts and crafts from many very gifted artists. There will be artist demonstrations, food, music, and dance. It is said to have some of the finest arts and crafts in the Southeast.  Admission is $3.00, under 12 is free. Make sure you add it to your list of plans this Memorial Day weekend!

The Southern Appalachian Artist Guild will have an art exhibit on display featuring arts of the region during the Arts in the Park festival and will remain on display through June 18th at 420 West Main Street, Blue Ridge, GA 30513.

Run for your Wife

Don’t miss your last chance to see Run for your Wife, a comedic play by Ray Cooney showing at the Blue Ridge Community Theater. This hilarious comedy is about a taxi driver who is getting away with having two wives in different places because of his irregular work schedule. Many complications arise as he tries to keep his life from running out of control.

Showtimes are Friday evening, May 28th at 7:30 pm, Saturday evening, May 29th at 7:30 pm and Sunday afternoon, May 30th at 2:00 PM.

Relay For Life in Fannin County

Only 35 days left for Relay For Life of Fannin County Georgia. You can still sign up or donate. The relay is held at the Fannin County High School Stadium on June 11th 2010. The American Cancer Society has set up a great resource so you can track the top teams and participants. Check out the Relay For Life events site.

Currently the Georgia Cancer Specialists Team is ahead and Melissa Patton is the top participant. You can start or join a team or you can donate to a participant or team.
